Please pass over me.
I don’t want to explain.
Furrow your brow and lean to one side.
You’re only filling me with more dread.
It’s nice to know you’re listening now, but what happens when the story goes on?
I’ll find myself alone over there,
While you’ll have moved on from this black empty hole.

This September The InkOwl is teaming up with a guest poet The Wasp to bring you a mix of Blood and Anxiety. These poems were inspired by life events, personal experiences, and a desire to share differing perspectives on relationships. If you’re interested in participating in future corroborations with The InkOwl please feel free to message this blog from the contact page.
Anxiety and blood usually don’t listen
no matter how many times you ask
it would be great for them to pass over
without hearing they smile to you today
because you need them to unmask
fighting these feelings alone is hard
but you’re not alone and for us to win,
not impossible, neither is an easy task.
