Saturday Book Review- The Martian Chronicles

Today’s Saturday book review title is a sci-fi classic: The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. This series of young adult short stories chronicles the colonization of Mars and subsequent conflict between the aboriginal Martians. Experience a 1950 style version of the future as humans flee from a war ravaged earth in search of a better existence.

I first read these short stories as a young teen. I’ll never forget the haunting tales of regret, loneliness, and excitement as humans attempts to better themselves and ultimately fail. Ray Bradbury has such a way with words that I can’t help feeling like I’m partaking in a veritable feast while reading. If you’re looking for a classic sci-fi read with descriptions that stimulate all five senses then this is the book for you.

Other titles by Ray Bradbury:

  • Dandelion Wine
  • Something Wicked This Way Comes
