Wash upon these strange shores,
As a faded memory upon smooth rocks.
I would recall your face,
But you have set sail upon a midnight ship,
Bound for unknown places I have yet to be.
Oh how can I remember,
That which never has been nor will be.
Wind tugs at my hair,
Pulling me towards a lapping sea.
I will worry away I’m these thoughts,
A while longer as I watch.
Something long faded now dips low,
Beneath waves of forgetfulness.
Let me be upon this shore,
And forget while night closes in.
