Chalice of Green

Chalice of green placed in the sun,

To guard all who may enter this space.

With lions mane and earthly growth,

Bid all to seek wisdom and nourishment.

Remind us of what is always possible,

Under the light of each day and starry night.

Let brass upon this corner sing,

As steps take us wandering between leaves.

That we too may fill our burnished chalices,

And point forward to what will be.

  1. Dear Owl:
This piece of writing has delicious imagery! Grandfather’s garden is full of inspiration for you.
Need to find another word for “nourishment”. You use that quite often in your writing.
    Sincerely, Auntie
