Walk swiftly between pools of light,
Always with one eye forward and one behind.
For something stalks you,
Just out of sight.
Not human, not quite beast,
But always seemingly within reach.
So move closer to the light,
It will protect you for a time and space.
But there will always be some moment,
When darkness will reign.
In that time your existence will slip,
And you will stumble into oblivion’s jaws.

I really enjoy those first two lines.

This poem is so dramatically, creepily beautiful.
