Hey everyone! I’ve got some exciting news! It’s small, yet big at the same time. A month ago, on a whim, I decided to try my hand at Haiku writing.
A fellow blogger, Amanda McCoy, introduced me to Master Haiku. It is a website based out of Japan that, among numerous other things, celebrate Haikus. They have world renowned poets that teach and write Haikus, but also critique and feature poetry submitted from around the world.
Now, a month later, I have a Haiku being featured on their website! Out of 97 different countries and hundreds of submissions they picked one of my Haikus to be featured!
I’m one of five Americans that had their Haiku chosen to be featured with 33 other poets from around the world.
Follow this link to read all the beautiful poetry that was submitted (and feel free to cheer when you see Michael Erickson/USA up there).
So so so happy! Thank you Amanda!
PS if you want to try your hand at Haiku writing follow this link for their contests for June. Hurry contests end on the 18th and 30th of this month!
